Duo Mediceo – Piano duo – Sandra Landini & Francesca Amato

The piano duo “Duo Mediceo” was founded in 2020 on the initiative of Sandra Landini and Francesca Amato.
Both of these Italian artists with rich achievements in the field of solo piano music decided to combine their artistic strength and musical experience, working together on the repertoire for 2 pianos as well as the piano for 4 hands.
This artistic initiative turned out to be very fruitful – the Mediceo duo became known as a synonym of great musical cooperation and the highest piano artistry with performances in concert halls of many countries – Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland and the United States of America and others.

Sandra Landini won first prize in twenty national piano competitions  and  was the winner of the  absolute first prize at the International Competitions of Stresa and Taranto, the absolute second prize at the International Competition of Chieti and the absolute third prize at the International Fryderyk  Chopin Competition in Rome, at the Ferenc Liszt Piano Competition of Lucca. Her artistic career gave her the opportunity to be an important performer like soloist in the most prestigious halls  wand festivals in Europa, at Gasteig in Munich in Bavaria, the Grieg Festival in Bergen (Norway), the Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny (Switzerland), in the Theatre des Varietes in Monte Carlo, at Musik Theater and Vienna University, at the Fondazione N. Piccinni in Bari, St Giles’ Cathedral at Edimburgo, Festival Paul Casals and Fondazione Frax (Spagna) in  Basilica di San Giorgio a Roma,  In the Theatre Bibiena in Mantova  Theatre Marruccino in Chieti, Havellandische Musikfestspiele in Brandenburgo, Internationationale Münchener Musikseminar in Monaco, Accademia Nazionale di Lovran (Croazia), Cultuurcentrum Beringen (Belgio), AccueilMusical in Parigi, and in Torino, Genova, Milano, Stresa, Alghero, Lugano, Londra, Norimberga, Francoforte, Cracovia e Dublino..
She is often invited to play in the United States and Canada, at Steinway Piano Serie in University of Florida, at Kopleff Recital Hall in Atlanta, at Bertelsmann Foundation Building in Athens Academy, Music Encore Concert Society in Richmond, Vancouver, at the University of Georgia and at Center for the Arts in Oregon.
She played as soloist with J. Dumitrescu’s National Philarmonic Orchestra of Romania, Italian Academy Orchestra, Icelandic Kordo String Quartet, Asolo Chamber Orchestra, Akedon Quintet.
She also performed Mozart Concerto for two pianos KV365 with P.J Cajkovskij Repubblica of Udmurtia Orchestra, Filharmonia Świetokrzyska Orchestra and  Jean Sibelius Rapallo Orchestra.
At Teatro Comunale in Alessandria she performed J.S. Bach Concerto for tree pianos and orchestra BWV 1063 and Charmichael Concierto folklórico for piano four hands and orchestra with Sanremo Symphony Orchestra.
She recorded a CD with Russian (Rachmaninov, Balakirev, Glinka) and Chopin for Phoenix Classics .
Sandra Landini graduated summa cum laude in piano performance at the “L. Cherubini” Music Conservatory in Florence. Then, she completed a two-year specialisation for concertist majors at the “F. Morlacchi” Music Conservatory in Perugia.
She attended Highly-Specialising courses with Orazio Frugoni and Maria Golia. Boris Petrushansky and Muriel Chemin contributed to her professional growth.
She teaches piano at the A.Boito Conservatory in Parma (Italy)

Francesca Amato has been conducting an intense concert activity for years, performing both as a solist and as part of chamber ensembles guest in major Festivals: Festival International de Musique Symphonique (Algeri National Theatre), Festival Opus Artis (Paris), Festival Musique et Patrimonie en Vienne et Gartempe (France), Festiwalu Miedzynarodowego Muzyki, International Music Festival K. Jamroz and Lake Como Festival, Southern Oregon University in Ashland (Oregon, USA), Stagione Musicale Mendrisio and AMIC (Lugano – Swiss), Mantova Musica (Teatro Bibiena), Musiksaal of the University of Cologne, Forum des Cordeliers and Centre Culturel Aerospatial of Toulouse, Great Hall of the Italian Cultural Institute of Vienna, Bulgaria Chamber Music Hall of Sofia, Stadthalle of Unna (Germany),Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) in Venice, Circolo degli Artisti of Turin…
She also performed in four-hand piano formation with the San Remo Symphony Orchestra and in two pianos ensemble in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Mozart’s concerto, with the Świętokrzyska Filharmony in Kielce (Poland)
She received a three-year diploma in chamber music with highest honors from the International Piano Academy of Imola under the guidance of Pier Narciso Masi and she has recorded a CD titled “Meravigliose sofferenze” (“Wonderful sufferings”) dedicated to piano four-hands music composed by Schubert, Schumann and Brahms.
Francesca Amato began studying piano at the age of nine with Giampiero Semeraro, under whose guidance she graduated with highest honors from the “G.Frescobaldi” Conservatory of Ferrara. Winner of numerous national and international piano competitions and scholarships, she continued her training by specializing at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Maria Tipo and at the Scuola Superiore Internazionale di Musica da Camera di Duino with the Trio di Trieste.
Subsequently, he obtained a second-level degree in concert music with highest honors from the Conservatorio “G. Puccini” in La Spezia.
