Lapo Vannucci graduated with highest honours from the Conservatorio “Cherubini” in Florence under the guidance of Alfonso Borghese. He continued his studies at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and participated in masterclasses with Arturo Tallini, Álvaro Company, Francesco Romano, Frédéric Zigante, and Stefano Viola. He further specialised at the École Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot”, studying with Alberto Ponce and Tania Chagnot, where he was awarded both the Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution and the prestigious Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste.
Vannucci is a prize-winner of numerous national and international competitions, both as a soloist and chamber musician, including Liburni Civitas, Città di Piove di Sacco, Città di Massa, Città di San Sperate, Città di Asti, Mendelssohn Cup in Taurisano, Riviera Etrusca, Città di Grosseto, Riviera della Versilia, and the “Davide Lufrano Chaves” Guitar Competition.
He is professor at the “G. Puccini” Conservatory in La Spezia and artistic director of the “Giulio Rospigliosi” Guitar Competition. His concert activity has taken him to prestigious venues and festivals in Italy and abroad, including Malta (Victoria International Arts Festival), Japan (tour of sixteen concerts), Germany (Havelländische Musikfestspiele in Berlin, Neckar Musikfestival in Weinsberg, Meisterkonzerte in Fürstenzell), Spain (Fundación Andrés Segovia in Linares, Festival Internacional de Música in S’Agaró), France (Salle Cortot in Paris), and Romania (Bucharest, Onesti, Bacau, Râmnicu Vâlcea).
He has premiered works by contemporary composers such as Luigi Giachino, Francesco De Santis, Matteo Pittino, Albino Taggeo, Giuseppe Crapisi, Teresa Procaccini, as well as the Concerto for Guitar, Piano and String Orchestra by Francesco Di Fiore. He plays a guitar built especially for him by Japanese luthier Masaki Sakurai.
