The Symphony Orchestra of the Lower Silesian

The Symphony Orchestra of the Lower Silesian Philharmonic is one of the most recognizable symbols of the active cultural life of the region and the concert business card of Jelenia Góra.
It was founded in 1964 by Stefan beam which was also his longtime conductor. Under his leadership, the Symphony made from Jelenia Góra, the first major concert successes. Since 1990, stands at the head of the Lower Silesian Philharmonic their Director General Zuzanna Dziedzic, the music activity of this important cultural institution had in their care (in order) Tadeusz Wicherek, Robert Satanowski, Andrzej Chorosinski, Jerzy Swoboda, Miroslaw Jacek Blaszczyk and currently Tomasz Bugaj.

The principal part of the business of the Philharmonic make appearances before the audience of Jelenia Góra and the music events, which are organized in their own concert hall. Since the beginning of its existence the orchestra has performed extensively outside of Jelenia Góra in Germany and abroad. For many years Master points are his concert schedule performances in Germany and the Czech Republic. In his work, it also has concert tours to Italy, Finland, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, France and Hungary. Last was the orchestra of the Lower Silesian Philharmonic in China as a guest.

The Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra play in famous concert halls and at prestigious music festivals, among others: the International Music Festival of Contemporary Music Warsaw Autumn / międzynarodowy Festiwal muzyki Współczesnej Warszawska Jesien, International Festival Wratislavia Cantas, Internatiolnalen Schlessieschen Festival agreement, the International Organ Music Festival Silesia Sonatans, summer music festivals in France or Milenium Pace Festival in Spain. During this last festival, the orchestra from Jelenia Góra occurred in Valencia in the prestigious hall Palau de la Musica. His concerts honoring the official ceremonies and events to mark the National Day celebration outside the country.

The Orchestra of the Lower Silesian Philharmonic played the works of the great Polish composer, among others, the National Theatre Urania in Budapest, during the celebration of the holiday of Constitution of May 3, which by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Hungary with the participation of the diplomatic corps all over the world were prepared. In May 2010, the symphony came in the Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou during the largest and most prestigious art festivals in China.

The Ensamble attends all following editions of the cultural events organized or co-organized by the Lower Silesian Philharmonic the All-Polish Festival 'Stars Promote', the Viennese Music Festival, Festival of theater music, festival of music humor Deer Maestro or the International Chopin Piano Competition for Children .
The Orchestra of the Lower Silesian Philharmonic concerts with leading Polish conductors and soloists, as well as stars of the world music stage. Among the artists performing with the orchestra include, among others: Kazimierz Kord, Agnieszka Duczmal, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Krzysztof Penderecki, Kaja Danczowska, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Krzysztof Jablski, Piotr Paleczny, Wanda Wilkomirska, Waldemar Malicki, Miroslaw Jacek Blaszczyk, Tomasz Bugaj, Krzesimir Debski, Tadeusz Strugala, Jerzy Swoboda, Malgorzata Walewska, Fialkowski Stanislaw Jerzy Salwarowski, Wieslaw Ochman, Vadim Brodsky, José Cura, Ivan Monighetti, Juozas Domarkas, Jadwiga Rappe, Jerzy Artysz, Jerzy Knetig, Marek Pijarowski, Roman Lasocki, Piotr Rubik and many others.

The special part of the activities of the orchestra, the cooperation with other Orchesterensambles, especially German,. The musicians of the orchestra joined the Lower Silesian Philharmonic and the New Lausitz Philharmonic play together monumental works of great classics that require the expanded Ensamble of instrumentalists. The orchestra also collaborates with renowned Polish and foreign choirs.
The outstanding oratorical works, the orchestra played with, among others: the choirs of the Silesian Philharmonic and the Hungarian National Philharmonic. It also plays with young talented musicians like that is just the beginning of her art career.
In addition to the traditional concert halls enters the orchestra during the Open - Air on events. It performs well in temples, interiors of the outstanding monuments and participated in spectacular stage companies.

The orchestra has in its repertoire the most valuable works of world music literature of all periods. It makes the works of great classics and from contemporary composers. Its activity does not limit the orchestra on classical music. Boldly it attacks even after other music genres. It does not keep away from demonstrations of the entertainment, film and theater music. It is also working with jazz musicians.
Together with the foreign partners participates in the realization of the orchestra international cultural projects that promote the music scene, the national culture and the integration values of art activity.
With commitment, it participates in special, orchestral and concert programs for children and adolescents.
In his work, the orchestra has seven compact discs, including among others the IX. Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, oratorio Elijah by Mendelssohn, Passion according to St. John J. S. Bach and the recordings that the special project titled encounter of four cultures crown, the richness of the music four neighboring nations of our region - promoting Polish, Czech, German and Sorbian nation.
